The Most Beautiful City In The World

I'm not a patriotic person. in fact i don't really give much of a shit either way regarding my country or who ever the fuck runs it. I have the fullest intentions of leaving here at the first chance i get. However....

The city i live in has a vastly differant effect on me. In truth i'm utterly transfxed by everything about it. During the day it's pretty and nice i suppose, but it's at night that my love affiar with Edinburgh really starts.
The city is differant at night, the darkenss manages to find it's way into every little part of the landscape, you can't hide from it, which is just the way i like it. The atmosphere never leaves, it's always fantastic, but all you have to do at any given time is take a few steps of the beaten path and you can be completely isolated from the rest of the crowd. It's created that way, there is more then enough places to lose yourself. Both literaly and figurativly. I honestly enjoy nothing better then walking through the city at night, embracing everything about it, the darker the better. The place practically reeks of history.

And i have my own personal little history here too. So will everyone who has lived here for any lenth of time. On every street, and every corner, i have a memory, a reminder of were i was years ago, of the me who used to exist. Or more recently even, nights out, places i've visted, people i've been with, events that have occured. Some moments will never be forgotten. Case in point. hogmany this year, great group of people and a brilliant night/morning (technically). But when i look back upon it in years to come, i'll have the backdrop of the most beautiful city in the world to visualise my past in. I think that is something to be thankful for...

I'll be talkin to ya xx
