When Do You Really Know A Person ?

It's one of the things that has always fascinated me about human interactions, that point in a relationship between two people when they finally understand each other and this bond forms. Be it between friends, relatives, couples anything, there is always 'that' moment. I've noticed how there is tell-tale signs that you have reached that point too. I suppose it's were you want to be, but everybody only has a limited few people who i believe they allow this privalige, the true knowledge of themselves.

The signs for me would probably be these....

If you can sit beside somebody you know, in total silence, not conversing whatsoever, but there is no sense of awkwardness or feeling that you should start some sort of bullshit small talk just in order to start speeching again. If i'm in this situation with somebody it tells me that i am completely comfortable in their presense and in their space, the silence doesn't bother me, just serves to illustrate the fact that you don't neccessarily need pointless words to communicate.

If you can have an entire conversation with somebody, of which 90% of it is completely confusing to anybody else listening. It's like having your own little language, certain buzzword, certain noises, just your own private method of communicating, totally un-readable to the rest of the world.

If you can lie in bed beside somebody and not feel the need to do something sexual or make silly pillow chat. Instead you can just hold them, or hold each others hands. That's the differance. No matter what has gone previously, or how much sex or whatever you've had, there's very little as intimate and knowing as to just lie beside somebody with their hand in yours, listening to them falling asleep, completely relaxed and at home closely positioned beside you.

If you can invite somebody into your everyday life. Let them see the 'you' that might not exist when you are out and about or socialising, but the 'you' that exists in your own comfort zone. The version of yourself that wakes up in your own bed, in your own house. Basicaly the side of yourself that the majority of the world misses out on. If you feel that you are quite happy to allow others to become part of that daily grind and monotiny then there has gotta be something there.

I'm sure there are millions more ways to tell, but these are what's coming to mind as i'm typing. They are all nice things too, it's the people that you can safely say fall into this 'sphere of closeness' that are the ones you should treasure. And sure, they will come and go, the world isn't a nice place, but if you can keep just a few of this chosen bunch close throughout your life, then at least you can say that your existance hasn't been a total waste of everyones time.

I'll Be Talkin To Yaa xxx
